Connect your database

Enter your MySQL details and confirm the application URL. ProBill tests an empty database before saving private configuration. The next screen creates your company and Administrator.

Before continuing, edit config/installer_key.php on your server and replace the empty install_key with a unique private key of at least 24 characters. This is required on all hosts, including localhost. Never share the key.
The installer never overwrites a populated database. Connection details and the private key are saved in config/installation.local.php, protected by the root and config folder access rules. HTTPS is strongly recommended for remote installation.

For local WAMP, use MySQL's actual user and password. Keep your configured key private: you will use the same key for the Administrator/company setup in step 2. No server environment variable is needed.
